Engineered stone is a man-made slab comprising approximately 95% natural quartz aggregates blended with polymer pigments and resin. Quartz is one of the toughest substances on the planet, but when it is blended with polymer resins, the resulting engineered stone benchtops become heat-proof, resistant to cracking and virtually indestructible for many, many years.Â
Because of their robustness, engineered stone benchtops are practically maintenance-free. They don’t need regular resealing like some natural stone alternatives and can handle the clatter of a busy kitchen. Being chip, scratch and stain resistant, engineered stone benchtops are well equipped to handle the demands of years of heavy use and can be wiped down and cleaned with standard cleaning solutions and cloths.Â
